For those who'd like to know where I've been for the last two weeks...

Every year, the College of Business has a Faculty Awards Day ceremony, at which prizes are given for Teacher of the Year, Oustanding Research, etc.  There is also a tradition of something called the "Light Humor Award," which is basically an opportunity tell an extended joke  ( Read more... )

Today it was announced that While You Tell Yourself the Truth  tied for the "Most Adventurous" award for SIYE's Christmas Engagement Challenge.  This will make it a "Featured Story" on SIYE.

I'm disappointed with myself for caring so much whether people review my posted fan fiction or not.

It seems to me that, given that there's no money in fan fiction, the only reasons to do it are (1) to have the creative experience itself, (2) to touch other people, and (3) to get to indulge yourself in the characters and the settings you love.  ( Read more... )
