I ordered a package a few days ago. (Clothes hangers, probably the most boring objects to ever arrive in a package - but still nice to have.)
Amazon was excited to keep me updated every step of the way, until on Wednesday, it trilled happily into my email account: Yay! Your package has arrived!
Me: Uh. No it hasn‘t?
New hangers: *stubbornly absent*
Me: *forgets about it for a couple of days and then remembers that her clothes are still sadly unsupported by chic new hangers*
Amazon: No seriously, they were delivered on Wednesday!
Me: I will make you regret this.
Amazon website on further probing: Okay, they were not delivered so much as placed in a secure location. Which is pretty much the same thing when you think about it. There, does that make you happy? Are you happy now?
Hallway, front yard, bushes: *innocent of hangers*
Amazon website on further further probing: Here is proof, unbeliever. *spits out mysterious image of neighbor’s bike cover, one corner lifted enticingly to reveal a peek of package*
Me: …
I had not previously encountered this particular delivery practice. I also feel that Amazon might have shown me that helpful picture right away instead of hiding it away in the deepest, darkest corners of their website.
