Dear Yuletide Writer

Thank you so very much for participating, and I hope you have a great Yuletide season!

I didn't give much additional information in the request sheet because the new format confuses me I figured I'd go overboard here, and seem to have been correct. Anyway, what do I like, as it applies to these requests? The bittersweet, the tragic, the dark, the ( Read more... )

You're one of the other Malazan people!

(oh, Hi, not your YT writer quite obviously because it's only Wednesday and all but sorry I couldn't help myself)

please please post your letter to the Dear YuleGoat post? pretty please? I feel so alone ;_;

I know there must be at least four requesters, you and me make two, and I suspect the person who I wrote madness for last year might be the third.

*sigh* someone who wants Malazan ;_; I can die happy now

Oh, hello! No, no, fangirl mode is perfectly okay. Finding Malazan people, especially on LJ, is such a rare thing. I did post my letter last night (just signed up) -- it's lost somewhere on page 21.

Looking at the sign-up summary here, I'm not sure we're going to get anything out of this fandom, though. I offered, but that 8 name limit kills in a fandom like this, especially when they've added two naming possibilities for one character, which is what happened with Ammanas and Cotillion.

I've given up on the post, I hadn't seen you in the spreadsheet yet *g*

Finding Malazan people is hard, period. And writing Malazan is hard, too, which is why I didn't offer. I wrote stocking stuffers last year for atheilen, Paran-centric The Lord's Push, The Lady's Pull and Fiddler-centric The Force of Ashes, but they're just ficlets because it's so incredibly hard to find openings in the storyline, Erikson tends to come back to everything and it's so great but sooo maddening.

The several names should be taken care of with aka's though *frown* We'll check that next year or something.

The aka's were actually the problem! For example, there was both "Kellanved aka Shadowthrone aka Ammanas" and "Shadowthrone aka Ammanas" (and similar aka shuffling for Cotillion, except with all his names used each time), and I wasn't sure there'd be a match if someone chose one instead of the other. And then the missing characters (though MBotF wasn't the worst offender there), since I like Draconus' daughters but couldn't find them. (Yes, I'm big on Ascendants ( ... )

We probably shouldn't spam your dyw letter *g*
The aka can be fixed next year, I hope. Need to keep it in mind to talk with the admins about it, though. The missing characters... I actually made a full character list, but decided against adding it because I didn't want the wranglers to have to handle 500+ character for a single fandom, that seemed excessive. That I forgot Kalam again this year though *sigh* oh well.

I got Malazan rec from a friend in a manga community. And people have to read it, I mean it had how many millions of copies sold? Just that people aren't fannish about it.

The spreadsheet is <3 ;)
