Habits are soooo hard to break.
Yes, I got up.
Yes, I did stuff.
But looking back at the end of the day, it was just a bunch of stuff. The 2 major items screaming at me from the list didn't get done. A bunch of little stuff did.
I used the little stuff to procrastinate the big chunks I didn't want to do. A powerpoint presentation due Friday, and putting together the paper version the studio schedule for spring semester.
Now tomorrow is going to not be quite as relaxing. I will really need (WANT) to get the first part of the powerpoint written, plan out the paper version of the schedule, send it to the instructors for approval, and start making edits to the website/shopping cart/google calendar.
If I don't, then all of that will pile up and I will be scrambling over the weekend. There's much more to be done with the new schedule roll out. After those steps is the marketing campaign: social networking posts, email newsletters, fliers designed and ordered. Then finally going live with the schedule by Monday.
The last time I waited till the last minute, I worked all the way through Jan 1, 2, and part of 3. The 1st and 2nd were good 12 hours of work. I do not want to be there again, so I must want to get moving on this tomorrow.
As far as the powerpoint presentation, I feel terrible when I shove a bunch of material together at the last minute. If I want to feel good then I would want to get started on this tomorrow. Just because it's only 15 minutes does not mean it will be quick and easy to put together.
Since so much did get done today and I realized what I was doing, I will call this day a success. As I am planning out my to do list for tomorrow. I will prioritize. First things first.
UPDATE: I did get the base classes planned out for Spring semester. Just sent a quick email to two instructors about options for days off. Tomorrow the paper schedule is finalized and I can start background updating sites. That wasn't so painful.
