Harriet Foltman Thackrah, RIP
A few weeks ago on a Tuesday evening we took Mary's mother, Harriet Thackrah, to Shuttleworth Park for a ball game. The Mohawks were offering one of their many crowd-pleasing promotions, with veterans getting in free. The house is deafeningly quiet this morning, just me and Chip the Wonder Dog, and he's keeping to himself. The smell of brewing coffee brings me downstairs, and I take the opportunity to release the dog to his morning routine. Aunt Betty Brunelli DeSanctis, RIP
Aunt Betty, who passed away earlier this week at 93, received her farewells this morning at St. Mary's Church in Franklin, MA. It is the church where my parents were married, where my grandfather and Aunt Betty were baptized early in the last century, and all that generation of Brunellis (and many that followed), including 94 year old Aunt Pia who ( Read more... ) -
First Steps
Veterans Day 1995 was one of the harder ones for me. I always remember Dad, of course. Actually, not a day goes by that I don't remember him. But 1995 was different.
