Oh how I enjoying wasting time. Really, it should be a sport. Or even better, a job.

I have to wake up early tomorrow and drive two hours to the capitol and pick up my sister. Then I'm going another 40 minutes or so to my new (but once old) home. So I guess I'm going back home? Well, that's how it feels anyway, which is always good, right?

And yay, on the way, we're stopping to look at some new cars. I finally saved up enough for a pretty substantial down payment (about 50%) so my actual loan will be doable, especially now that I have an income. Anyway, shopping for cars is kind of like going to the dentist for me. Not so much fun. The results are always nice, but the process is a nightmare. At least I've narrowed it down to two possible vehicles. That was, of course, until I realized the Jeeps were within my price range. Now I have five! OMG, how the hell do I decide?

I have always and will always have a soft spot for Jeep. My first car was an '89 2Door Jeep Cherokee, a model that has since been discontinued. I bought it from a friend of the family, a guy that is completely obsessive about his vehicles (ie. washes them inside and out at least once a week), so I knew it was nutured like any Jeep deserves :). Now that vehicle is liquid awesome, I'm telling ya! I'm keeping it forever (it no longer runs reliably), and in five years it'll be a classic anyway!

So, anyway, big decisions to make, but the best thing is to never be in a hurry or you'll either screw yourself or the dealers will do it for you. Which, OMG is another story. A bit of a rant really, but srsly!

Okay, so I go into the local Chevy dealer here, which we've dealt with previously with horrible results (you'd think we would've learned by now), and I talked with a young salesman (he was my age, strangely enough) and everything was going great. They gave me their rediculous offer and I told them to shove it, that the rebates were not included as offered (bunch of loyalty rebates for current GM owners plus a national GM rebate to the tune of $2250). This guy was only doing what his boss was instructing him to do, so as usual the manager comes out and asks if everything is going well, if his guy was treating me well and I'm like, sure sure everything's fine, except the rebates are wrong.

Oh man, so this is when I realize the guy is an ass-hole: I ask, "What about the supplier pricing?" Which my family gets because both my parents work for a local company that participates as a supplier of Chevy. And the guy actually had the balls to say to me, "Well, you know, I was actually already quoting the supplier price in that offer. I figured I'd give you a deal. You know, a young girl like you can walk into a dealership and you know other guys can say, 'Hey, Daddy's gonna take care of his girl and I'm gonna get her for sticker price.' So, I wanted to treat you fairly." OMFG, I wanted to scream and slap him and say, "Fuck you asshole, I know for a fact you're screwing me right now! And gee thanks for stating that you won't take advantage of me and proceed to actually take advantage of me." I hate guys like this! I just smiled at him and nodded. Then I left and I will not go buy from them. God damn, I have seriously never had sexism show up so blatently before in my life. Perhaps I've been sheltered, but really guy, seriously?!

*Sigh* wow, I really had to get that out there. I'm sorry if it made no sense, was too harsh, or boring, but damn I haven't been that worked up in a long time. Okay, I'm gonna go get a fresh mug of tea and make a PB&J; try to relax a bit, lol, before I start in on some Fic. Actually, maybe that would help.
