I haven't updated in a long time! Well, this is why. Here's my exciting news for the weekend:
1.) Altair has informed me he likes traveling in a pack better than alone. Altair, for those uninformed few, is the name of my new bike. I named him after one of the fastest-rotating non-pulsar stars we know of. I haven't told him that the centripetal force makes his star FAT, though, so don't mention it if you talk to him, please.
2.) Fortran's NAG FFT libraries suck. This is because they use kind-4 integers, which no other part of my supercomputer likes. The result: large stripes across the 30-35 degree latitudes (north and south, so at least it's symmetric). This is the reason Altair was practicing solo-riding yesterday, since I needed to go to work and figure this out. I STILL don't have it finished, which means my pretty movies aren't going in my presentation tomorrow. Alas.
3.) I am bad at first-person shooter video games. I bought Timesplitters2 so I would have another multi-player game for my Gamecube. It's a good game, but I suck at aiming. About the only thing good is that I'm better than Robert. :) He might debate the "goodness" of that fact, however.
4.) Matlab CANNOT make a meaningful 3D colored plot of degree, order, frequency, and amplitude. It won't. Trust me: I spent four hours this afternoon in the lab trying to MAKE it. There's another something that's NOT going in my presentation for tomorrow. Oh well, I have enough other pretty pictures and I've gotten good about babbling about GRACE, so I can fill up the time.
5.) I had a lot of hand-wash laundry backed up. I don't think I've done it since before Christmas. It took an hour. :( But, on the plus side, it's done and my kitchen sink looks AWFULLY shiny (I washed it BEFORE I did the laundry, for the record -- bathroom too!).
6.) I'm HUNGRY! And these frozen Voila! meals come with sauce that it SAYS to just put in the skillet and it'll melt, but they LIE! It takes like five minutes to melt! And I'm HUNGRY!!!
I think that's about it in the Life Of Jenni. Very exciting, as I'm sure you can see. I think I'm going to go force-melt that sauce ice-cube now.
