The PussyCat Dolls are Pathetic
I really really hate that stupid PussyCat Dolls song, "Don't cha" - I saw an ad here promoting the cd, and it said "Girl Power!"
Have the advertisers listened to the lyrics? It's about a sleazy (pardon my french) slut, who thinks she can get anyone she wants and taunts the partners of the sleazy loser men who are tempted by her.
Ugh. This song is full of people I don't want to know, or know about.
How is this considered "Girl Power?" The "girl" in the song is not empowered, she's pathetic...
I don't think the song is "cute"...it bashes men and women alike, highlighting the worst qualities either can have.
When the PussyCat Dolls first came out a few years ago, I thought they were stupid - totally missing the point of burlesque (as they marketed themselves). They are just tacky and sleazy, and an outlet for celebrities who wanted to seem "daring"...give me a break!
And now they have a "hit record".
It's things like this that make me depressed that I live in the year 2005...
