BLOGOSPHERE: PREPARE YOURSELF FOR MY SLIGHTLY INSIGHTFUL INTERNET RAGE!
All right, let's get a few things out of the way.
1. I am a straight white male living in the United States suburbs, who doesn't claim any oppressed status of any kind. If I was 1/16th Cherokee (which so many white people claim to be, on their Grandmother's side of course) I would still not claim any minority status.
2. My politics lean pretty heavily to the Left.
3. I saw Avatar. I enjoyed it as a piece of pretty entertainment, and given that it was PG-13 and targeting a wide audience I didn't expect any groundbreaking screenwriting/dialogue/depth. It is an entertaining action movie with some easy to swallow themes.
Ahem.
I don't like that the main hero is basically Tarzan in Blackface.
