... but did you also know it's National Poisoned Blackberries Day? Yeah, I didn't think so.
There are some really fun
weird holidays in October, among them Virus Appreciation Day on the 3rd, Gaudy Day on the 17th, and then a four-in-a-row knockout combo starting on the 25th: Punk for a Day Day, Mule Day, Sylvia Plath Day, and Plush Animal Lovers' Day. By the 29th, you'll be in sore need of Hermit Day!
I didn't look for very long, but a quick perusal of Google results didn't yield any explanation of Poisoned Blackberries Day. I guess that leaves it open to interpretation.
Speaking of blackberries and fruits people like to pick, our first wedding anniversary is coming up next Sunday, and we were planning to go pick apples at the same place we visited on our honeymoon, where we spent a glorious several hours alone in the orchard because of chilly rain that was keeping everyone else away. I just went to their site to get the link to share here, though, and it seems this past weekend was the last weekend they were open to the public for picking, as they have sold their store and will be doing only wholesale from now on. That's really sad. We'll find another place to pick, but it won't be as special as if we could've gone to the same place. *sigh*
