A meme I just answered made me think just now about the importance of nourishing in ourselves a healthy sense of wonder. I spent my requisite years of jaded sophistication in college, and grew past them to remember how cool things can be. You may remember that I wrote recently about the joy I found in my elderly dog reveling in the experience of walking through deep piles of crunchy leaves. I keep going back to that memory. It's like a gift he gave me, to compensate maybe for the hell he's been putting me through.
Is there something you've experienced recently or experience regularly that's small and/or simple and/or seemingly insignificant that lifts your spirits and reminds you that the world can still be a beautiful place to be?
