That talk; onkey
Taemin and him had been sharing his Ipod as he read the latest book from his favorite author while Taemin was busy with his PSP. The younger then commented something about Jonghyun and Jinki’s voices ‘having sex’ during a certain part of their ‘Romeo+Juliette’ song, and Kibum stropped dead on his tracks, unable to go back to reading with the sudden flashy mental images running through his head. Taemin didn’t seem to expect an answer, still playing as if he hadn’t said a thing at all.
Despite the fact he was most of the time the sexy icon of the group - with all the heavy make up, sexy dances and stares - it didn’t mean he behaved in that way all the time. Work was work, real life was another thing.
“Tough day?” Jinki startles him and almost make him drop his pocket mirror. In other circumstances, he would have yelled at the other for scaring him like that, but he wasn’t in the mood at all, still mulling over his and Taemin’s brief talk.
“It’s all about sex” He says, staring at Jinki’s socks - mismatched again, “Why does it matter so much?” He notices how ridiculous he sounds. Jonghyun would have already teased him and he’d would have liked to take his words back. Not that he isn’t feeling the same now too.
“It’s part of the growing up thing, I suppose” Jinki says, “I don’t mind it, so it doesn’t bother me”
Kibum makes an acknowledging sound. Why did it bother him so much anyway? He’s not really sure why he asked such a question in the first place.
“It’s okay if it doesn’t appeal to you” Jinki says, smiling a bit and Kibum is getting more and more convinced that talking to Jinki is much better than to his psychologist, because his distress seems to have faded suddenly and he can’t help it but to feel that what Jinki said is really true, or to give a small smile to the older in return.
Prickling water; onjongkey
Kibum refused to join them in their volleyball match. Minho and Taemin were the first ones to stop trying, already playing by themselves in the water. The two oldest were still trying to coax the rapper, who was currently sitting under their big beach umbrella, unmoving. After good fifteen minutes of arguing leading to nowhere, Jonghyun gave up, mumbling about guys that seemed to have worse pms than his sister.
“C’mon hyung!” Jonghyun called, annoyed that Jinki was still trying so hard. If even he, who was closest to Kibum, hadn’t been able to do it, what Jinki could do? He knew how stubborn Kibum could be when he wanted to. Most of the time, it was even worse when they had to deal with an unwilling Minho.
“YAH! PUT ME DOWN JINKI!” All of them turned to see Jinki carrying a struggling Kibum over his shoulder.
Jinki had a victorious grin when he put Kibum down near the rest of them. Minho and Taemin held their laughter for the sake of making Kibum stay and not run away -or try to drown them.
Jonghyun would have laughed out loud if not for the strange feeling he was having by seeing how Jinki broke through Kibum’s walls with ease, reminding Jonghyun of that certain moment during one of their Hello Baby episode’s filming, or even past events at a similar situation. Watching the two of them have fun on their own, to see Kibum so different than he normally behaved and how determined Jinki was to reach Kibum everytime put Jonghyun off in a very weird way.
“Can we start now?” Taemin asked, handing the ball to Kibum. They easily got engrossed with their game from then on. Jonghyun took the coach’s role, trying not to think much about it, or the way the salty water seemed to make his body colder than it probably should.
White flag; 2min
Minjung wasn’t the kind of girl who cried or gave up easily, probably due to the fact she had always fought with her twin brother Minho, causing her to become less-fragile than girls her age.
One day Taeyeon tells her Minho had asked her out and she had accepted, though, Minjung doesn’t notice she’s crying until Taeyeon is holding her tight and asking what is wrong.
Minho asking Taeyeon out, of all girls in the world, is wrong. Taeyeon agreeing to go out with the bastard that is her brother is wrong. Taeyeon being now officially taken away, belonging to someone she had hated for her entire life so far is wrong. Minjung having had secret feelings for Taeyeon for the longest time, and only getting to figure them out now is all kinds of wrong.
Minjung hugs Taeyeon, imprinting to memory the way Taeyeon fits against her, while listening to her tell her she will find someone sooner rather than later - there had always been some sort of competition of who would be first at everything between her and Minho after all - unaware that the person Minjung had always wanted is right there, smiling so beautifully at her it hurts so much she feels like crying again.
But it’s okay. She doesn’t mind crying by herself in secrecy as long as her precious friend has happiness. Even if it will hurt infinitely to see the one she loves being so close to her yet so far away, as long as Taeyeon is happy with Minho, she will be alright. She’ll lift the white flag for now, but if her brother ever fails to keep up, she will gladly defeat him and give no chance of losing ever again.
Pour it out; jongyu
(it's best if
this is watched first)
"Tell me everything" Jonghyun corners Jinki once they arrive from their recording.
Onew inches away from the younger, trying to gain some unexistent personal space back, "I don't think it works that way"
"What, why not?" Jonghyun frowns, leaning closer and Jinki presses himself back up the kitchen table.
"I... uhm, I would have told you guys if it was really relevant" Jinki tries to reason, offering a little smile. Where are the others, by the way?
Jonghyun isn’t convinced, "That was relevant, still you haven't told us about it"
"I forgot..?" Jinki laughs, trying to move from his position. He can’t look right into Jonghyun’s eyes any longer.
Jonghyun grabs his wrist, "No, seriously, hyung. Haven't we talked about this already? That thing I said on the radio, I meant it. You can tell us things... tell me about your life or what you think. You don't have to keep it all inside."
"Yeah, I know" Jinki replies, trying not to shiver at the feel of Jonghyun's thumb brushing the slightest bit against the skin of his wrist.
"Yeah, you know" Jonghyun smiles somewhat sadly, staring down and letting go of his wrist after squeezing it gently, "Just... don’t forget it. You don't have to do it alone, okay?"
Jinki nods rather than voice it. He would have already done so countless times, if only his heart wouldn’t threat not to come back to him whenever he poured it out to Jonghyun.
Vows; minkey
Kibum had promised himself he wouldn’t cry, not when he was right there, witnessing him marry that beautiful woman.
Leave her His mind said hopelessly, Leave her and run away with me It was the only sound drifting in the air, with everyone expecting the groom to respond to the priest.
“I do” The groom accepted the vows, not able to hear any of Kibum’s pleadings.
“You were supposed to run away with me just then” Kibum whispered in a choked voice, finally breaking down at the sound of the cheers and applauses, at the sight of the couple’s matching radiant smiles or their sealing kiss.
“I’d never get this far with a woman I never truly loved” Minho sighed, dabbing the tears with his handkerchief, “You watch way too many movies”
“Shut up” Kibum took the handkerchief and wiped the tears by himself, flushing, “Don’t you see the beauty of this?”
Minho rolled his eyes but snaked an arm around Kibum’s waist, keeping him close.
