what a day!
battle of the bands was this afternoon....kids did a great job and it was a rockin show....3 months of work to put it together...As I was packing up my stuff and loading it into my truck, I realized how exhausted I am...I'm working on a dinner for 80 which gets put on Thursday...a tostada fest tomorrow for my kids,...the last week of school madness...etc....I need a break like never before...on top of that I'm still stupidly attempting friendly gestures towards this girl who I want to be friends with...today I gave her a book to read over the summer...we used to trade books all the time...she returned it to by mailbox with no word of explanation...kind of like a silent, chickenshit way to say fuck off.... my heart no longer feels safe with her...maybe this is one of those incidents I'm supposed to pay sensitive attention to....maybe someday I'll get it through my head that there's no hope for our friendship...maybe someday I'll just shut up....maybe....
