Ah yes, one of those artificial constructs of time we have created called The New Year. January 1 is no more or less special than today, if you think about it. It's a good excuse for a party, though.

So stay safe and warm and look to the future, do not live in the past. A happy, safe and prosperous 2015 to us all.

I would just love to launch a big whiney-assed rant, but that changes nothing :) Everyone, Please have a happy and wonderful holiday, whatever you celebrate. It is a time for family and friends and new beginnings. It will be as good as you allow it to be.

and how you'd have to get up pretty early on Saturday morning if you wanted a good cut of beef or pork from the butcher. You stood in line, picked your roast or chops or steak, they weighed it and wrapped it in "butcher paper" and tied it with a string, later they would tape it. No styro trays and plastic wrap.
