I barely remember the graphic novel, other than it being cool, so I doubt I'll be plagued by huge expectations. Any interest in seeing it on IMAX?

I just read Watchmen for the first time yesterday. I wanted to read it before the movie and as I was reading it, I realized that the movie couldn't even begin to compare. The depth of story is too great for a two hour movie, and wouldn't translate well to movie screen in the first place.

A good portion of the story is about comics themselves which would become pointless to attempt to translate into a movie form. At the very best, in twenty years, we can have a reimagining of this tale utilizing movies instead of comics as the back drop.

I'm assuming what we'll see it the "main" story without the "comic" or the side stories and novels/papers/etc that end each book. Although Wil seems to be a pretty big fanboy and was impressed by it, so we'll have to see how they pull it off.
