Amazing friends and family

This last weekend was Natalia's party for her 5th birthday. While it was a little last minute we did have a few people say that they were going to come, she was so excited to invite the girls from school. One of them said they were coming but I had a inkling that no one her age would actually show up. I ended up stressing myself out pretty good, wanting it to be perfect but knowing that I didn't need to do gift bags or plan games. Heather deserves the "Other-Mama of the Year" award, she brought over a bunch of decorations and set most of it all up. Time for the party rolled around... Karen and Myles showed up a little after it was supposed to start. About 40 minutes rolled by and I decided to text the mom who'd said her daughter was coming. She felt bad she hadn't let me know but her daughter was really sick. So I let Natty know this and Heather, Stefan and I decided it was time to break out the dress up clothes to take her mind off of it. A little while later Tristan showed up (and was promptly dressed up), we had cake (which her Daddy was her hero for fulfilling her request of a big flower with butterflies on it) then she opened her presents that Grandma Karen and Papa Myles and Heather brought for her. Heather and Tristan have always been such blessings to Stefan and I but it touches me so deeply how much they both love our girls. While Izzy napped they both where willing to pretend to be what ever the birthday girl turned them into with her wand. After Karen and Myles left, Heather and Tristan both decided to stay and finish out the night with us. We even had a dinner that Tristan could eat. My mom stopped by for a few minutes after she got off work (both her and Daddy would have been here but had to work). So while Natty had a moment or two where she was sad no kids came she still had such a blast because of the amazing people I am honored to call my family.

The decorations are still up, though should probably come down soon (at the very least relocated). We ended up staying home from school yesterday because I haven't been feeling well and Natty had a cough. She's looking forward to giving the girls at school their goodie bags even though they couldn't come. We even have one for Aidan's little girl Tayla for when she is back in town.

All in all didn't go how I planned, but still a great weekend. My little girl is growing up too fast, as they all do.
