There hasn't been much talk about work here. Things have happened that you might not be aware of.
I am now a cook in training. I haven't had a dish washing shift in almost three weeks, the last two of which I've worked overtime. Mimosa Friday(!) being my only day off this week, I think I clocked in at exactly 50 hours this week. It's safe to assume that they like me there, and it's working well for everyone involved.
Do I enjoy cooking? This is a tough question that I don't have a clear answer for for a few reasons:
1) I prepare food. There are few things I am literally cooking, I am mostly making salads. Works out well for a vegetarian. Until I am working grill I honestly don't think I can answer the question surely.
2) The frantic pace is really refreshing, it's unlike any other job I've had. Everyday is the beginning of the end of the world, when the sign says closed everyone sighs and waits for the next apocalypse.
3) The kitchen atmosphere at Prima is so great. Working there is fun. Almost all the employees are good people, there are worst places to hang out for 40+ hours a week. The other day I had to Emergency Bus(tm), and the Executive Chef and Owner Sieb came up to me on the floor and under his breath said, "You don't have to hide it. Everyone in here knows you're gay." and walked off straight-faced.
Will this become my calling? Who the fuck knows. I am having a lot of fun.
