Everything about this is just great, raw and powerful and so real. I think it helps that I can relate immensely to Akihiko too (gay trans guy here as well). Reminds me a little of my struggles as well, which isn't a bad thing in this case.
re: Yosuke and Kanji, oh man I KNOW. I spend entire cutscenes raging at the characters and Atlus and etc. because of Yosuke's ignorant and blatantly homophobic and sexist spiels. The tent scene during the school campout? Wanted to punch him in the face the entire time. One would expect at least Chie or Souji to speak out against the shit he says (esp. Souji, who seems like a nice guy despite the snarkiness of some of his responses), but no. Argh, so much frustration. yeah, i really can't stand fandom's obsession with how much of a ~bro~ yosuke is. he's just fucking awful, there really isn't another way to put it. and i seriously hate it when people try and excuse his homophobia with either "he's a 16 year old boy, they're all like that!" or "he's just confused and in the closet THAT MAKES IT OKAY". because these seem to both be fairly common interpretations in fandom, and...no. just fucking no. i can't even begin to explain the level of NOPE those statements make me feel.
i want to write trans!naoto fic sometime soon, but...it doesn't really feel like it'd be worth the level of wank that topic seems to inspire in fandom. i know for a fact that there's been wank about it on the kink meme at least twice, and that there's been a few fandomsecrets about considering naoto ftm that were totally shouted down by all the commenters :/

I've been told by all of my friends who played the game before me that Yosuke is so fucking awesome and everything, so I feel kind of like a stick in the mud for feeling UH NO about him. Glad I'm not alone in thinking this. But the fandom, aaargh. I haven't even begun to look into the P4 one yet, but now I don't want to. At all. Unless I can find some good Kanji/Souji or trans!Naoto/Kanji, because honey? YES.
You should do it if you feel compelled to do so, and fuck everyone else, especially since your writing is awesome. (There's a kink meme for Persona? Where.) Ugh, fandomsecrets. There's a reason I don't keep up with it, and that's mostly it.

Omg, dude, I was playing P4 earlier this evening when I realized I CAN NO LONGER STAND YOSUKE how am I going to survive the entire game like this sob. At least someone is finally getting the balls to ridicule him, i.e. Kanji in the tofu shop by telling Rise about how Yosuke was checking her out. God I have such mad love for Kanji. But yeah, I used to know a Yosuke irl, wasn't the greatest guy, to say the least. :/

SHIT I KNOW RIGHT? That entire camping trip sequence just got my hackles up liek whoa. I mean, I thought Yosuke was acting pretty obnoxious in the bathhouse dungeon, which I decided to let slide because okay, he's a kid, but I can only stand so much heterosexism and homophobia from one character. Bad enough he was expecting the girls to be all ~sweet~ and ~cook for them~ and ~wear pretty swimsuits~ (and everyone seemed to accept this view NO PROBLEM), but he had to go all dudebro in the tent and practically accuse Kanji of being a sexual predator. Because he's gay. Oh my fucking god GROW UP. SO MUCH ANGER. >:|
I feel like there should be a movement against Yosuke in this fandom or something. Or at least fic that portrays him as he really is presented in the game dialogue. XD Oh man, so many possibilities just surged into my head BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO WRITE FIC, I AM BUSY D:

To be honest, I started off in the PW fandom shipping P/E like a motherfucker, but then I played AJ and found a few K/A fics and it was life-changing, dude, I can't even say. They're just so GREAT.
Hahahahahah, Klavier is like an amalgam of everything German Pop Rock. Although I have to admit I don't listen to Tokio Hotel, but will rectify this most promptly.
Hahah, iunno, it seems to me that the P/E and K/A branches of the fandom seem to intertwine a whole lot, like if you have a K/A fic there will usually be P/E in the background (especially since Phoenix seems to act as a gay mentor to Apollo a lot, rofl). So I don't think liking Klavier and Apollo over Phoenix and Edgey is gonna ruffle too many feathers. XD Then again, this is Fandom, so you never know.
