(Since Penn State’s internet connection has been on the fritz the last couple of days, I only just uploaded the journal entry before this one, but I backdated it to Monday when it should have been posted online. Just thought I’d mention that so it doesn’t look suspicious that I wrote two journals in the same day for class.)
Today I think I saw the earliest snow fall of my entire life - it’s only October and already it’s cold enough to snow for hours on end here at Penn State. Crazy. I can’t even imagine what this place is going to look like come December or January, although given State College’s bizarre weather patterns, maybe it will actually be warm out. It could happen. I’ve had days here where I wake up in the morning to 30 degree weather, dress in a sweatshirt and jeans, and then proceed to sweat to death during the day as the temperature rises to 65 after my first class, only to plummet back down to the low 20’s after night fall.
In other news, today was the season premiere of “24,” and if you’re reading this and even remotely like thriller movies or action films, start watching this show immediately. Trust me, it’s well worth your time, and since this season kicks off a completely new plot from last year, you won’t be missing much. As I understand it, every week FX replays the previous episode, so if you missed the first episode today, you still have a chance to catch it later on.
Not much else to report this week. I’m trying to get as many of these journals done now as I possibly can so that I’ll have time later in the week to work on my papers for film and religious studies. Hell, I still need to figure out which film it is I’m going to analyze before I can even start my research, and only then will I at last be able to start my paper. Time for me to stop slacking off and playing Smash Brothers in Volpe’s room at midnight…..nah.
I’m out.
