I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock far too many times this morning, yet as soon as I woke, productivity began. It diminishes the guilt extra sleep sometimes bring. I woke at 9am. I was home at 10:30am after having baking a dozen and a half muffins, showered, delivered them to the law office in New Prague, and chatted with a pair of the attorneys there.
I fell asleep last night in a pair of size-3 black dress slacks, a scratchy purple sweater with its price tag still attached, a pair of holey navy blue dress sock, and a green, grey, cream, and black Mexican blanket wrapped around me. Flopped on top of my still-made bed. Contacts unremoved.
I awoke shortly before 4am with one cohesive (yet reasonless?) thought pounding through my head. My eyes burned, their bottom lids puckered from abuse. I pulled my PJs from my overnight bag, changed, took out my contacts, and dropped into a more restful but freezing sleep. This morning, the freezing part was explained. The thermostat was set for 65 degrees.
