Home Renovations SUCK!
Okay, first off, I hate plumbers. They say they will show up sometime in the morning and don't show up till later in the afternoon. I had to miss class because I was the only one that could stay home to let him in. A whole Monday wasted on an S bend that was loose and needed to be moved a bit. So basically, the leak was because the board in the floor of the cabinet wasn't cut right and was pushing on the S bend. I wasted my whole day for THAT. Grr.
Now, Corey has taken upon himself to re-do the stairs. This meant that he pulled the carpet up, pulled all the staples out of the wood, stripped 98% of the paint and as tried to sand the rest off. That hasn't been going so well so he is now in the process of taking the stair planks off to run them through the planer. He keeps sighing and huffing and I feel bad because here is nothing I can really do. I just feel like when projects go wrong, it's my fault because I can't help and I'm just sitting here doing nothing.
Oh we got a dishwasher though! It's a portable that we got for a steal off of cragslist. It's a full sized GE washer that's like two or three years onld that still sells int he stores for like $500 and we got it for $200. It needed a new part to get it working, but now it works wonderfully and I am so happy to be using real dishes and NOT get overwhelmed by the dishes. I'm hoping James can help us re-vamp the pantry so we can move the fridge in there and then keep the washer where the fridge is and cabinet over that. I just wish the hallway were wider so we could put a new pantry in. Oh well.
