"Under God" Heh-heh
"Our Texas pledge is perfectly OK like it is with the exception of acknowledging that just as we are one nation under God, we are one state under God as well."
Excellent questions posed on the message board:
1. While we're talking about the rights of those involved...are people really taking into account the students rights?
2. What happens when disputes arise between the several states and the Union, such as when then Governor Wallace stood on the steps of the University of Alabama to block its racial integration in the 60's?
3. To whom should the captive public school student be mandated to profess allegiance, "under God"?
Luckily, you can always get a note from your parents saying that you can't/won't say "under God." I'm sure everyone's very comfortable with that.
