Arrested for Dancing??
Sunday night around midnight a girl was arrested for dancing with a group of people on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial. They were celebrating his birthday... they weren't doing anything illegal, and weren't even listening to loud music on speakers - they were listening to mp3 players because it was so late at night and they didn't want to bother anyone. The police refused to answer any questions, and upon being asked by a journalist from The Agitator, the arresting officer denied that he was the one who arrested the girl.
It's terrifying to me to learn that DC police are spending their time arresting people for dancing. Who the hell are these people hurting? Get out and do your damn job! There are thiefs, murderers, and rapists out there that need to be found and put away! For the love of God, get the violent fucks off the streets. Who cares if there are people dancing on the Jefferson Memorial?
