According to the online application status thingy, I have to provide a high school transcript along with my college transcript. I have not found a way to do that online, so it looks like I have to go back into the belly of the beast.
Perusing the district directory, the same secretaries are at the high school that were there when I graduated 10 years ago. They didn't like me then. I have little to no desire to beg them to help me now. I'm hoping a trip to the district office will accomplish my goal instead. Hopefully I won't actually have to set foot in that dungeon again.
What do you think of the new icon? It's from the totally badass cover art of the UK edition of The Deed of Paksenarrion omnibus edition. Which I just so happen to have in my hot little hands. Yes, that's right. I ordered an overseas edition just for the cover art. But come on. Isn't it awesome?

Both icons are free for the ganking. The Deed of Paksenarrion is a trilogy by Elizabeth Moon about a female mercenary fighter who becomes a paladin. Well, okay, it's more than a trilogy, but only the first three books are in the omnibus edition. She just released a new book in the series this spring. I read the first book through the library (the closest copy was from Illinois!) and got hooked. The omnibus edition feels like an ancient tome. It's hefty and intimidating. The font is not minuscule though, which is good.
I'm also reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind, which was the basis for the TV show Legend of the Seeker. I'm reading the series and watching the series at the same time. Unfortunately, the TV series was canceled after two seasons. Stupid TV. But the book series is like a million pages long (with teeny tiny font) so I have plenty to entertain myself with until John Scalzi's next book comes out :o)
