A LONG BORING WEEK
I am amazed it's already Friday today. I never thought it would arrive. Though I have been quite busy this week, it has dragged on so slowly.
Besides having a doctor's appointment Wednesday morning, I have practically bought all groceries I need for Christmas and New Year's. The only thing left to buy, is the ham. And I bought this BIG turkey for New Year's. It weighed almost 5 kilos (about 10lbs)!!!! But there will be a lot of left overs- for my cats. They can never get enough of turkey. They love it almost more than they love chicken.
Last night, I decided to roll a whole batch of meatballs and fry them, before popping them in the freezer until Christmas. Have to have meatballs on the table or else it won't really feel like Christmas. Of course, I couldn't resist eating a few. Mm, nom!
Yesterday afternoon and long into the night, it was also raining. Or rather, pouring down. Today, I actually caught a little bit of sun! Still no snow and only 4 days until Christmas. Hm. Though I am not big on coldness and snow, for Christmas, I think there is nothing more beautiful and moodenhancing than a white landscape. Fingers crossed!
I'm meeting up with my friend in about an hour. We've got some errands to run, so we decided to do them together. It will be really dark by 4 pm and I wish the street lights were better!
The mail just arrived. Every 3rd month, our local church sends out a news magazine. I started crying when I read my mom's name among all the funeral services that have been held. I can't believe it's been less than 4 months since she passed away. It's hard sometimes...
