CHILI CON CARNE

Some friends of mine started talking about taco spices and for some reason the conversation turned to chili. Now, I LOVE chili, though I'm no expert at making it. I mean, mine's very plain and simple, but very tasty still.

Well, after our talk yesterday afternoon, I grabbed my container with raw white beans, put them in a pot with some water and soaked them over night in the fridge. This morning, I drained them, poured fresh water on them and put the pot on the stove to let them simmer away until tender. It took at least 2 hours. Then I got a larger pot, semi browned the ground beef, added a tin of chopped tomatoes and then drained cooked beans. Also added some water, only to finish with some salt and ground black pepper. I let the chili simmer on quite a low heat for about about 30 minutes to an hour, stirred occasionally and added some water when the stew got to thick.

To serve with this, I cooked my favorite kind of rice; Basmati. I sometimes only make toast and eat with the chili.

I know there are a million ways to make chili and mine is so plain, but still very tasty. My dad, who hated this kind of food, would often ask me to make it, so I guess that means it's not so bad. :)

I ended my lunch with eating four Ferrero Rocher- my favorites ever!!!!
