Bones - Finger in the Nest

I loved this episode ... from the Booth/Parker playing in the park beginning, right to the hug at the end. IMO this is one of the best episodes of the show ... from any season. It had it all.
I loved everything about the Booth/Parker storyline. It was great to see Booth out on 'his' weekend with his son ... gives us a hint on how they spend their time together. And Parker's expression when he found the finger was priceless. I really liked how Sweets refused to humor Booth with the therapy for Parker issue at first, but when faced with true issues (acting out at school, talking back to his Mom, not wanting to go to school etc), Sweets was able to find out just what was bothering Parker. And I think they got a 6 year old boy down perfectly. (Wanting to take the finger to school so he could make the girl 'barf'.) I laughed out loud at that last scene with Booth and Sweets ... anyone wanna bet that Sweets used to get carried around like a monkey? :)

I really thought the writers did a great job with the dog fighting storyline. They were upfront and accurate without being preachy or exploitative. I really appreciated that they made the distinction between the dog being the murder weapon as opposed to the murderer. I thought Cesar did well. He was there for a purpose - not just for the stunt casting.

I really felt for Angela and Hodgins 'You're a genius"- "no, you're a genius" and the looks when they realized that they weren't together anymore. It showed how easy their relationship had become and how they're having to work at being broken up.

I really liked how Sweets handled Hodgins this week. The lurking had a real purpose this time. And making Jack face his anger and then accepting it was perfect. And Jack couldn't get out of there fast enough could he? :)

I have to admit that they fooled me with the vet. I really thought that he was betting on the dog fighting, and I was glad that he turned out to be a good guy.

I thought Booth and Brennan were perfect together this week. There was much give and take and they seemed easy in their relationship. I felt sorry for Booth when he had to tell her that Ripley was put down. It's never easy to give a friend/loved one bad news. And poor Brennan, she finally connects with something (someone) and he's taken away from her. Kind of the story of her life so far. I really liked it at the end when Booth was uncertain about whether or not he had given Parker good advice, (He can be insecure about his parenting abilities) and Brennan reassured him. Then he supported her with her grief over Ripley. Very nice balance.

So as I said before ... loved this one.
