Time Crash!

Man oh Man!

This is important for another reason besides the fact that it was wonderful.

Time Crash is important because it is the first time I knew a BBC program was on while it was on. I mean, I was on YouTube Last Night looking to find the first upload! Of course, then I was called in to work and then other real life happened and here I was this afternoon watching the Children in Need special.

But the most important reason it's important is, of course, because it was just so perfect. It was hard to tell where Davison and Tennant left off and Five and Ten began, yeah? So glad I now have the verb fanboying to describe it (unoriginally--it's been all over the interwebz for 24hours now, but I concur).

Seeing as how DT and I are the same age, it makes sense that Five was my Doctor, too.

Alex A. dressed up as Five for me on at least one memorable occasion in High School--complete with the decorative veggie! And on more than one occasion, he sported a cricket bat in class back in the days before that would've been a felony in an American school! He knew I had a thing for Five and hoped it would transfer to him. Granted--it's been how many years now and here I am blogging him, eh? At least it gained him some bit of infamy! He and Christy R. were my Dr. Who buddies back in the day--granted they were much more dedicated than I. While all the other kids were unpopular and wanting to fit in with the cool kids, I was smoking cigarettes among other things and trying to fit in with the geeks (I couldn't sit still long enough to play D&D and I didn't have the attention to detail required to fangirl anything more complex than pop music, but I tried--I skirted the fringe and slept with the nerds...I did my part, dammit, I gave what I could...).

I am proud to say I have finally achieved the sort of terminal geekdom I sought then--even married to a D&D nerd *Sigh* I am so lucky :-D <3

But, by the way--I clearly remember DT saying he preferred Four?!! Am I the only one? Of course, I see the resemblance to Five and prefer it this way, but just so the history doesn't end up utterly revised, I would like to go on record as questioning the veracity of Ten's claim. Oh--wait! Five was Ten's Doctor, not Tennant's Doctor, yeah? Alright, alright, poetic license. You got me.

But more to the point,

Stephen Moffat is a God and he needs to be revered as such. The desktop theme line was a favourite. I'd been wondering how they'd explain the change in Five's physique, but, because Moffat is brilliant, it was perfectly plausible. So glad they addressed it and didn't just expect us to turn a blind eye. And both of them with the, "What?!" The high five made me laugh out loud. Most of it did, really. "One never gets to see the back of one's head," Indeed! I must watch it repeatedly now... Oh, and I had to include a Flying Spaghetti Monster reference in honour of all this.

I actually argued with a fellow fan (My fault, in fact! I did it--I brought zapatos_malos and her entire family to the Whoniverse single-handedly, thankyouverymuch!) recently about whether I should watch S4 online or wait for the American Broadcast next year. I was a purist, wanting to wait, but then I was able to rationalize the impatience because of the disgusting editing hack-job Sci-Fi did with S3.
