Sam and Peter's apartment, Monday morning

Sam started his first day of college today. Or, at least, his first day of orientation. Even so, it was a day to celebrate, as far as Peter was concerned.

He knew what time Sam had to get up, so he made sure to wake up before then. Moving as quietly as he could, Peter went into the kitchen and made a breakfast of eggs, toast, and coffee.

He left the food in the kitchen, but brought a mug of coffee back into the bedroom. He put the mug down on Sam's nightstand, and checked the time.

One minute to go.

Peter grinned. He closed his eyes and willed time to stop. When he opened them again everything around him had frozen, even the steam escaping from the hot coffee.

Peter crawled back into bed, settling the blankets around him and Sam. He leaned over to press a kiss to Sam's lips, pulling Sam out of the time stop as he did so. Sure he could've just touched Sam, but kissing was more fun.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty," Peter murmured. There was no need to be loud. After all, right now Sam could take all the time waking up that he needed.
