Last year around New Years, I went through all of my ticket stubs of the previous year, and then wrote a little entry about it. So, I decided to do it again this year. Here it is, the main events of 2005 and a little blurb about each...
January 27th - Something Corporate concert at the 9:30 club. This night could have been a complete disaster. I was originally supposed to go with Karen but then she didn't want to go, so I was supposed to go with Lori's brother but he cancelled on the day of the concert. Thankfully, Tiffany was free so she went. We got there right on time, got the last space in the parking lot, didn't get lost, and it was amazing show. I was convinced something was going to go terribly wrong but it didn't. It was a flawless evening.
February 4th - "The King and I" at the Hippodrome. I went with my Mom and Laurie because it's my mom's favorite show and she wanted me to see it. Unfortunately, I did not like it that much at all.
Februrary 23rd - "The Vagina Monologues" at school. I saw it with Janelle and we both really liked it. Mandi, Red, and some other people I knew were in it which made it even better.
March 12th - The first of three failed attempts to see "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" at the Theatre Project. This particular evening was the one where the guy playing Hedwig ran off stage in the middle of a song because he was sick, and the rest of the show was cancelled.
April 15th - Orioles game. We played the Yankees. I don't remember who won. I went with some glenmont people, ate too much, jumped around, and eventually got sick.
April 20th - Jimmy Eat World/Taking Back Sunday concert at American University. I went with karen, rob, and sunyak. It was a momentous occasion because I got a sincere apology from Sunyak AND he admitted that he was wrong about something.
April 23rd - Green Day concert in Pittsburgh. There is way too much to say about it. I went with Bryan and Janelle, and it was an experience I'll never forget.
April 30th - "Marat/Sade/Camp" at school. I had to see it for a class. I went with Jonathan and we both loved it, but everyone in my class hated it.
May 21st - Preakness. It was the first time I've ever been and it was pretty fun. We basically sit around and drink all day. It got kind of boring towards the end actually.
July 4th - Star Spangled Spectacular at Oregon Ridge featuring the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. I went with my parents, jackie, Brian and Nancy. It was a lot of fun, and it was great to go back to it after not going since 11th grade.
August 20th - Hershey Park with Jackie. We went on the Log Flume and they took a picture and you could see all the way up my shorts. A lovely crotch shot for everyone and anyone to see.
August 30th - Green Day concert at Merriweather. The best of my 3 green day concerts. There was supposed to be a monstrous storm which would've sucked cause we were on the lawn, but we got lucky and the weather was fine. Just some minor drizzles. I went with Janelle, Bryan, Bryans sister, and her friend.
October 10th - Weezer/Foo Fighters concert at the Patriot Center. I went with Robby and Greg, neither of whom had ever been to a real concert. It was Gregs birthday present from Robby and Me. I went primarily to see Weezer, but Foo Fighters put on a hell of a show.
October 14th - "Awesome 80's Prom" at the Hippodrome with Laurie, Dani, and Vicki. A ton of fun, and I danced with the captain of the football team. I can't find the ticket stub but I went back in the begining of November with Janelle for her birthday. She absolutely loved it.
October 22nd - "The Marraige of Bette and Boo" at school. I went with Janelle and we both agreed it was funny but way too long.
November 12th - Ben Folds and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at the Meyerhoff. I went with Waugh and it was a lovely night. It was the most incredible performance I've ever seen and it doens't even compare to any other concert cause it was so different. It was one of those concerts where instead of walking away thinking "wow, that was great I'm so glad I saw it," I was thinking "wow, that was great and I'm so sad that I'll never get to see it again."
So that was it! All of the major events of 2005. I feel like there has to be more than that but I don't have the stubs for them so they couldn't have been that great.
