(no subject)
So when I woke up this morning afternoon, I felt kinda drunk still/hungover. So I called my job and got one of the floor managers. The call went like this:
Kiwi: "Thank you for calling ZLB Plasma Services, this is Kewanna speaking, how may i help you?"
Me: Kiwi, hey, its Garri--
Kiwi: No, Garrick....
Me: I'm not coming in today...i don't feel well.....
Kiwi: You won't get your holliday pay....(as she said in a taunting tone...)
Me: Ugh....what? I don't feel good!
Kiwi: If you don't work the day before, of, and after, you don't get holliday pay....we tried to make this clear before hand to prevent this.
Me:......I'll be there later.....
So I had to walk to the bus stop IN THE RAIN....(part of the reason i was trying to call off is because it was raining...)
When I got to the bus stop, there was a lovely laminated sign taped to the metal pole...."Stop is closed starting Sept. 4, Please use stop at Harley and Olentangy, in front of Damons Bar"....wouldn't you know it.....So I FINALLY got to work and saw i was running bay four alone, great a nice slow paced day...then Dawn, my manager comes into my bay as i'm sticking someone and tells me I'm going to be the new afternoon crew Trainer and that I need to get on this and talk to Anette and do what i have to do to get signed off on this position, which means i have to get my Senior BMT in Medical Reception AND the Donor room....uggggggh! I hope this doesnt inhibit me from getting the supervisor position, because i'd be pissed if it did. I will only be getting a raise after learning a senior in one area which makes 6 points. and after 6, you get a raise....My day went really well, i was floating/doing breaks/and fixing a lot of problems :) It makes me happy when I fix a stick, and better when people ask me to fix them.....and when donors request me, i had 4 requests in 10 minutes....thats the bomb.
Oh flashback from last night: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY DANDY! YOU'RE 21! AND THAT MEANS YOU'RE GONNA BUY MY ALKY FROM NOW ON! :) :) :)
We went to union for karaoke last night to celebrate, i sang angels by robbie williams and i think i did ok ;) then got progressively sloshed and then greg and i did spice girls-say you'll be there....it was pretty much in tune...then sandy/greg/and i did lady marmalade....and i was trashed....the song was a wreck! lol but i had a great time :) I miss being able to see all my friends regularly...but its really grounding to have a job and balance out your life....I think i like where i'm at finally.....we'll see if i continue to like it....but for now...its ok.
I'm tired and i need to go in early to read for senior....night.
