"I'd probably do anything a man with an English accent told me to do."
~ Lanette, Relic Hunter

"Oh, I don't think I know as much you think I know."
~ Jack O'Neill, Stargate SG-1

Duct Tape is like the force. It has a dark side, it has a light side, and it holds the universe together.
~ Carl Zwanig

"To say he's unstable would be an insult to unstable people."
~ Harmond Rabb, JAG

"You know, I think God would like it if his name wasn't thrown around quite so much."
~ Mac, JAG

"What we call reality is an agreement that people have arrived at to make life more livable."
~ Louise Nevelson

"I know I'm going to hell, but that's okay. I already have roomies lined up."
~ ? (I'm pretty sure this one is from the Farscape Shippers List, but I can't remember who said it. Probably all of us at one time or another. ;) )

"All this - it's crap." Jane made a sweeping motion with her hand. "None of it particularly meaningful outside of what meaning we choose to give it. We're born, we live, and we die. Out of billions of lives, only a few hundred are even remembered for very long, much less having made a significant impression on life in general. It's smoke and ashes, Daria. You know it as well as I."
~ Smoke and Ashes, Yui Daoren

"Just once, I wish we would encounter an alien menace that wasn't immune to bullets."
~ Dr. Who

"Any technological advance can be dangerous. Fire was dangerous from the start, and so (even more so) was speech -- and both are still dangerous to this day -- but human beings would not be human without them."
~ Isaac Asimov

That said, first day of classes went well enough. Have gym first at 9, then choir at 12, and finally Math 110 at 1. I already have more confidence that this semester is going to go better then last semester because a) the teacher speakes fairly plain English rather that the math babble it seemed Sachs was talking in most the time (or at least it may as well have been math babble from what I managed to comprehend from it), b) she's already telling us to get different colored highlighters so we can color code the notes she's going to have written out for us already (so you can see where the solution numbers come from or how the simplification process goes), and c) I have it three days a week as compared to the two days a week I had last semester, so we'll only be going through one new section and assignment per day and we'll have the entire 50 minutes of the class to focus on that section instead of trying to stuff two sections into an hour and 15 minutes (which would give us, in a perfect world, only give us about 35 minutes per section.

Now, if only I hadn't woke up with a headache this morning that refused to go away all day (and the whole coming to work to find a pool full of kids with the waterslides going and only two guards to cover it all *AND* the girl's decision that the volume for their routines needed to be twice as loud as normal at the JV meet we hosted this evening really did not help the whole headache thing much), I could say that the day went quite well.
::wanders off to take a shower and go to bed early, praying she'll wake up feeling a wee bit more human tomorrow for her 8 to 12 shift at the Y::
