Question: is cheese considered an agricultural product? If I attempted to take some good ol' Wisconsin cheese over to Germany with me, would they take it away at customs? I'm pretty sure my brother was able ot bring a few chunks of cheese home with him after his trip to Holland, but I dunno if he stashed it in his carry on or if he had to buy it ( Read more... )

question, cheese

Probably. Anything that's not processed and wrapped (and doesn't have to be refirdgerated) is probably a no no. Dunno about Germany, but they have fruit/veg sniffing dogs here.

lol, but you are in australia. It's illegal to import like.. anything.

Anyway Maren, I googled a bit, and found a site that says there are no restrictions for bringing stuff into germany (which is odd... I dounbt it's legal to import drugs to germany) so if I were you I'd google around a bit, and if you can't find anything, ask at the airport in the states? I assume they know what you can and can't bring.
