So, mom and I spent the day shopping (her idea, and only a week after her surgery. If that ain't proof of some excellent recovery, I don't know *what*is ;) ). In the rain. It was actually quite fun, and I was *totally* working the hot 'artfully disheveled' look with my wet hair and slightly clingy t-shirt. ;)
Anyhoo, first off we went to Walmart where mom bought me like 70 bucks worth of new clothes (shopping with your mother is so much fun. Especially when she brings along all her shiny charge cards. ;) ). Got two new shirts - a skimpy light blue spaghetti strap tank top and a really nice deep plumb/maroon over shirt, another tank top with "On the Prowl" with a little kitty prowling on the front, two new bras, and some *really* *REALLY* comfortable new clogs to wear on the plane. She also got some film and another t-shirt for dad, but didn't find the slow cooker she was looking for.
Next stop was Pier One, where we found all sorts of cool stuff - mom got a new tea set, I picked up two cool weird wooden wind chimes (one for me, one for a wedding present), and we both agreed on a nice little fountain and a few Southwest-kinda patterned coffee mugs and pitchers for Toby and Trish as wedding gift - and we got it *all* for 68 bucks! YAY for clearance items and student discounts! Had it all been at original prices, everything would have cost like 100 something, so it was one hell of a deal. And, now that I know I'll get a lovely 15% discount for as long as I'm a student, I have a feeling I'll be shopping there a lot more often. :)
It was also so much fun running around in the rain... Both Walmart and Peir One are part of the same 'lot', so we were running back and forth between the two in a pretty steady rain fall (and *wow* was I happy I wore shoes today, otherwise my feet would have been very wet and cold).
But, yes, was a very fun day with Mom (and YAY new stuff!), and I'm so very glad she's feeling better.
