Loooong day. Long long long looooooong day. Long day that started at 9:00 this morning and didn't end until 6:00 tonight - all in all, 7 hours spent down on the pool deck at the Y. Hour and a half teaching lessons and another five and a half hours lifeguarding. But! With the 7 hours today and another 7 hours tomorrow, I'm gonna have over thirty hours on my next pay check! Which means that it's gonna be around 200 dollars! ::happy dances:: Also, for the two classes I do teach, I really have great kids. For my Pikes class I have 5 little girls who are already pretty good in the swimming department (at least when they're using a noodle or a kickboard) and the little boy I had for adaptive - Tyler - really did a great job today. It did everything I told him to do (or tried to, at least. Still a little so-so on the back float and the straight legs when he kicks), when usually the first day is spent just trying to get the kids in the water. And to make my day even better, Tyler's mom told me flat out after the lesson that she was impressed and thought I did a great job! Wheee, YAY compliments!

Then, of course, I had a 4 hour sift lifeguarding from 1 until 5. Wasn't *too* bad... Kids Korner now has two separate groups that come down with 30 kids each, but after we explained the rules to them and told them that there would be no warnings if they did something wrong (they go straight to a time out instead), they behaved pretty well. After both groups got done, though, things went pretty easily, so that was nice.

Only down spots of the day was when I couldn't get the gas pump to work at the first gas station I went to (it told me to push the button to start the pump instead of having that flippy holder thingy. I pushed the button and nothing happened. I pushed it again and still nothing happened. Finally I just went to a different gas station cause all the rest of the pumps there were full) and I couldn't find just 100 percent cranberry juice at the grocery store. So, I picked up some cranberry/apple/grape 100% juice mix instead, so hopefully that will be good enough. The good news is that I haven't had any symptoms of the UTI I've been complaining about the past week or so since Saturday, so hopefully its getting better.
A bag of Tootsie Rolls, Doritos (big grab bag size), waterproof band-aids, and a turkey croissant were also gotten at the grocery store. The Doritos and croissant were supposed to be my dinner, but so far I've only managed to eat half the croissant and maybe 4 Doritos. Guess I'm still full from the 6 inch ham and cheese sub and Funyuns I had for lunch. :)

i be stupid, swim lessons, lifeguarding, food
