(no subject)
Reunion was... okay, I guess. Lots and lots of good food, and my aunt Sandy and her husband Mike came with their daughter, Merriam, who I knew, so we kinda hung out a bit. The place they had it at was really pretty, way back in a woods and kinda isolated from the rest of the world. They had a lake and matching stained wood house and garage. Merriam and I went out in the paddle boat for about a half hour or so and chased some turtles away accidentally. We also went for a walk around the property though the woods and got attacked by horse/deer flies. Well, they swarmed around our head (at least it *seemed* like a swarm... it was probably only one or two bugs), but I had bug dope on so none landed on me long enough to take a chunk outta my arm.
The paddle boat thing was fun... we tried paddling really fast to see if the paddle boat would go really fast... it's didn't, just made more "swoosh"ing noises as the paddle thingy went through the water faster. But, twas fun... we saw lotsa dragonflies as well as the turtles. And a whole lot of ugly slimly looking green algae/jelly looking things in the water, but the water wasn't all that clean lookin to begin with. And! We didn't fall in the water while getting in and outta the boat! Go us! Though I will admit, I almost fell in at the start when trying to get into the boat. I made the mistake of untieing the boat and *then* trying to get in... But, I saved myself with a little fancy foot work and my nice buff legs (okay, so not buff, but pretty damn strong for someone my size... I think I could press something like 300 freshman year in gym with the leg press). So, go me!
I also ate too much... food goooood. I think I just by myself cleaned off at least a quarter of the cheese platter they had there... crackers and cheese (especially that salami cheese stuff) are one of my weaknesses. My tummy is still complaining about me filling it too full. But, they had all these fruit salads and desserts and just lots and lots of nummy munchie stuff! YAY munchies!
And, now I'm back home outta the heat, so that's also a YAY! That said, I am gonna go take advantage of the cool and maybe snag a lil' nappy. ::yawns:::
