Fic rec dump
Because most of these have been in my fic recs folder since December and I am a tidy person by nature. Shockingly enough, I'm still not reading much fic (with the exception of some old favorites previously recced that are getting a re-read, and one or two newer stories from favorite authors) after the epic Avengers OD I mentioned in my last fic rec post, waaaaaay back on April 1st. This is perhaps for the best.
Avengers (with one or two crossovers)
Brothers In Arms by copperbadge. Bucky Barnes gets a tune-up, a new pet, and a home. Steve and Bucky and Sam (with some Tony and lots of robots as well) after the second Captain America movie.
Angry Genius White Noise by copperbadge. One of Pepper’s favorite activities after a long day is putting on sci-fi movies and watching Tony dissect their bad science. He’ll happily spend two hours curled up against her and ranting about the flawed central plan in Armageddon and how REALLY, HE HOPES AN ASTEROID HEADS FOR EARTH, HE’LL SHOW HOLLYWOOD HOW TO REALISTICALLY AVOID AN EXTINCTION-LEVEL EVENT, DAMMIT. Pepper finds it oddly relaxing, like angry genius white noise. Add in Bruce, and she could sell tickets.
Looking For My Heart by Rainbowrites.
In which Natasha is a witch, and Clint's useless in a fight. That is, just because your heart's outside your body doesn't mean doesn't mean people see it
Loquis lands on Clint’s nose, and spreads her wings like a gossamer mask.
“Oh baby,” she laughs, “we’re all monsters here.”
Or - the Avengers written in the universe of Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" book trilogy, and it works far, far better than I ever could've possibly imagined.

They’re not a superhero team, they’re not part of the agency anymore, and they’re definitely not sitting around waiting to save the world again, so don’t go getting any ideas about that.
