So, the computers at work are down. I logged out for lunch yesterday and I haven't been able to log in since, and neither has anyone else from the Outlook Building. Which means I have had precisely squat to do for the last two days at work, and because I take the Van Bus rather than my own vehicle (it's about a 20 mile drive from here to Ice ( Read more... )

We had the same thing happen at our work! The storms over the weekend caused, as near as they could tell, a power surge and all of our networks were going crazy. For a little while the only computer in the whole office that was working right was mine, and then it decided to crap out too.

Turns out the router boxes (or 'switches' as the IT guy said) had been fried, so they were working very intermittently. Once they were replaced everything got back to normal.

Our IT people are pretty sure it's something to do with our user accounts rather than the network itself, because I (along with four or five others) can't even log in, and the few people who were able to do that were unable to do much of anything because none of our work servers were available to them. Our maintenance department was also having computer issues, and they're 20 miles away from the Outlook building. *Hopefully* everything will be up and running this morning when I get to work, though.
