....I kinda hope this wasn't brought on about my newest post on Tim/Tony and their bromance on NCIS? :D? MY OVER-EXCITEMENT, LET ME SHOW YOU IT
( ... )
The Tim/Tony thing on NCIS is part of it, true, but that's mostly because I've always thought of NCIS as one big, happy, dysfunctional family, right from the beginning - Gibbs as the father figure, Kate and Tony as the older siblings always arguing and fighting for his attention, McGee as the youngest who has to try extra hard to prove that he can do everything just as well as big bro and sis even if he *is* the baby (something I as the youngest child of three with two older brothers could totally relate to), Abby as favorite child who can never do wrong, and Ducky was that awesome uncle who everyone adores even if he is a bit strange - so I have a hard time shipping any of them. Then when Kate died, that in turn caused Tony and Tim to become closer as siblings because all of a sudden they realize they aren't immortal and they need to be thankful for the family they still have, and then Ziva came in and she was The Outsider/foster kid from the rough side of the tracks who had some History and everyone was kind of wary of at first,

As someone who only rarely reads slash, and even more rarely writes it (by which I mean, "There was that one time I hinted that Jool and Chiana had something going on, and then there was the DRD slash, but really, does that even count?"), I approve of this rant.
I feel kind of bad for basically never liking a slash couple, but...I dunno. It's hard for me to see the chemistry everyone else does. And yet I can totally see het chemistry everywhere. (Which probably makes me a bad feminist. Sorry, world.) Maybe it has something to do with tending to like the ships emphasized by canon.
And dear god, the less sex, the better. I want my fluff and my friendship, dammit. I want my couples and my BFFs buying curtains together, or playing paintball, or other shippy or friendshippy things that don't involve body fluids!

WORD The only time I want sex is when I am hormonal, and thankfully there is a wealth of Porn Without Plot (and some Porn With Plot, But Still Mostly Porn) to choose from what that time rolls around. Otherwise, I am all about the BFF and the Fluff and the Drama and the Action.
