Oh, so, here's the shepherd's pie recipe (for six) that Brian and I improvised based on my mother's half-remembered recipe and like five websites:

So, you want to brown a whole crapload of ground chuck beef (we used about two pounds).  Simultaneously grill about half an onion in oil (cut into tiny bits of delicious), mix it in with the beef.  Drain the water and oil out, then mix in the following:

-2 tablespoons minced garlic
-a lot of salt and pepper (we didn't use nearly enough)
-like three tablespoons of sugar
-2 cans of peas (well, that depends on the can size)
-at least two cans of creamed corn
-1 tablespoon worcestirshire sauce
-1 tablespoon flour (could have used more than that, wasn't quite enough)
-1/2 cup beef broth
-1/2 cup heavy cream
-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (we didn't use that, but in retrospect should have)
-much paprika

While you're doing this, make a whole bunch of mashed potatoes (cut the potatoes into quarters, boil them, mash them up with butter, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, parmesan, and a little cream cheese).  When the beef mixture is all brown and stewey gooey delicious, pour it into a glass baking dish and cover with a layer of mashed potatoes.  Stir up an egg and spread it over the potatoes.  Toss some cheddar and/or paprika on there.  (again, we did not use cheddar, but we could have).  Baked at 375 for 30-45 minutes.

It was pretty delic.

Hey, while I'm at it, I'm going to post my salmon recipe that I keep forgetting:

Cut the skin off, wash the thing, etc.  Lightly grease the baking sheet, put the salmon in.  Butter, dill, lemon, and that convenient all purpose seasoning shit goes on top.  Bake at 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  At the halfway point, take the salmon out and cover it in a yummy mixture of boiled and finely chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, parmesan, and nutmeg.  I tend to eat it with asparagus that has been shocked in boiling water, then grilled with salt, pepper, garlic, butter, peas and/or corn.

Mmm...<3 my high-fat, high-cholesterol diet, but also <3 spending 40 to 90 minutes at the gym almost daily.
