Just checking in briefly, because I'm quite sick and really must get some sleep and/or do some homework. I'm very behind on my coursework and am considering withdrawing from my literature class, which I'm currently failing. Midterms are here and I am in no way prepared. Yikes. Extracurriculars continue to rock my socks, though. Systems are all but a-go on A.P.E., even though the student association is making me jump through hoops to secure funding and space. I'm meeting with interested performers on Friday to discuss launching Alpha Psi Ecdysia: Touched for the Very First Time this Spring. I'll be very very happy if we manage a performance this semester, though I'll accept if we don't. I'm directing an excerpt from A Dybbuk for Fresh Act (student scene night) which is awesome, but I am mildly bummed that Kathleen and Denise have decided to hold the performance in the local coffee shop instead of in a campus theatre or workspace. I feel like they're acquiescing to the administration before even making an attempt. Who knows, maybe they're wrong and they wouldn't be shut down? Call me naive. Housing will probably work out nicely next year. If Kathleen comes through, she and I will be living with Brian at his and Russ' current apartment on N. Chestnut. We still need to find a fourth housemate, but that shouldn't be hard. If Kathleen pussies out, we're screwed. Pray pray pray. In a perfect world, the three of us would work out and freshman David would join us as our fourth. We kind of love the idea of mentoring him, creepily Pygmalion is that sounds. Brian would be such a great role-model for him, though, and David is obviously a very smart, chill kid who could be a wonderful housemate. Um...what else? Promise Keeper is midrun. It's been going nicely, and boy is it nice to have a few days off. I'm thinking about chopping off all my hair. Unrequited love remains a bore--I would take action if I could. Brian, Miles, Lis, Sarah, Kathleen and I had Meat Pie Mayhem (and/or The Great Beef Catastrophe of 2008) tonight. We baked a delicious shepherd's pie and watched Sweeney Todd. Love themed dinner parties. Next week is Shortbus. What shall we cook?
That's all for tonight,
J
