Sad news tonight
I just hear a little while ago that one of the Regional Advisors I worked with in Phi Theta Kappa (international honor society for 2 year colleges) passed away last night. When I was in Regional office she was battling breast cancer but had come back clean in check ups after that...I don't know if that was the cause of death or not yet...its just sad-a strong, really smart and kind woman who dedicated her life to teaching others struggling to get ahead has passed from this plane. She was an amazing guide to so many students, both those she taught and those she simply met. She faced her fight with cancer with much strength, grace and humor. Dr. Gavin was a gem and will be missed by so many. Sigh....sadness on such a blustery and icy night...kind of fits I guess.
