So I went food shopping today at my local C-Town. I went in with the vaguest of plans...I have no food, and this is where you get food. I kinda knew I wanted to get some easy to prepare foods, some pasta, some protein, some breakfast food, and some stuff to munch on. When I completed my shopping and arrived back at home, it turns out I got no bread, no meat at all, and I have no salt nor any spices. In fact, I couldn't even put together an entire meal with my groceries, unless you count a bowl of oatmeal a complete meal. Sigh. I have so much more respect for my mom now.
On the plus side I had lunch today at a little spanish restaurant where I got a huge amount of rice and beans, a whole chicken leg and some steamed veggies for $6. The leftovers will undoubtedly serve as a dinner very soon as well...which makes the newly frugal Neil very happy. What a change from the software developer Neil who would think nothing of dropping $200 on a night out. Now that much money will feed me for weeks...
