Spoilers: Soul Society arc. AU, because Byakuya also came to the human world; some weeks after the Bounto arc. Arrancar arc about to begin. Highly recommended you read {Things Better Left Unsaid}, because this goes hand in hand. Basically.

A/N: I wanted to make this a oneshot. It grew, and grew, to be multi-chaptered. The characters are way too complex to actually ‘fall in love’ in one chapter. This is going to be rather slow, but hopefully, I’ll finish it. [You can bribe me to do that.] I wish I could illustrate some of the scenes to come. Gawd, I wish I could do that. I base most of the training sessions, and its development on the recent happenings in the series: Recently as of chapter 228, Orihime has met with Hachigen, who explains the similarity of their powers and heals Tsubaki for her. He also remarks that her hairpins are like a zanpakuto, but doesn't elaborate further. If they are indeed like a zanpakuto, I intend to stretch Orihime, and see how much she can bear. Also, IMPORTANT: I’ve finally figured out where to set this monster, time-wise. So, um, Byakuya also comes with Renji to the human world when the Bountos appear. This fic takes place a few weeks after Bounto arc (I don’t know, and I don’t want to guess how it ends). As for the rest, I’ve decided to keep Shuuhei around, together with Ganju and Hanatarou. I just like them a lot. Let’s say they don’t go back to the Sereitei after the Bountos are buh-bye. Meaning, this is when the Vizards and the Arrancar appear. Um, yeah. Yes, I’m going to redo the entire arc. Crazy? Why do you ask?
