Notes: I ship this so hard I'm almost ashamed. Not ashamed enough not to post this, though. :) This is my first Mentalist fan art and my first fan art of 2012. Everything has been on hold while I finished up things for my first solo art show. A lot of first here...

I seriously love the arc they've given Kimball this season. First, the running line with his injured back (and I still haven't seen the beginning of the episode when he first hurts it...he gets hit by a car or something...), but then they throw Summer (played by Samaire Armstrong) into the mix. I actually took all their scenes together thus far and watches them from beginning to end. It's pretty entertaining...such a high level of unexpected yet enjoyable chemistry between Kimball and Summer. I may just edit them together and post it here. Summer character has only been in 2 episodes so far, but her and Kimball have about 10 scenes together. So, take from that what you will. :)
Anyway, Summer keeps asking Kimball about his back... and it's even referenced in a spectacular fic. Actually, all the Cho/Summer fics that I've read (which is about 4 in total, all that exist) have been pretty spectacular.
