When I found out about the...less desirable... side of Ryo's personality, I declared us to be 'in a fight,' removed his icons from my LJ, spent time scoffing at everything he said, and got really pissed off every time I found him attractive... which was most of the time.
Lately though, I've softened to him somehow. It probably had to a lot to do with fanfics (I love you guys who can write good Ryo-snark; snarky!Ryo that has a soft spot for Tegoshi is even better) and certainly has something to do with his performances of Code on the DVD and the superhot Ai Igai no Nandemo Nai. Yeah, I like him because he's sexy. So what?
So, begrudgingly, my mind is opening to him, and I finally put some of his icons back in (though I had labeled them Ashi no Ura-the underside of a foot-you've seen that Utaban, right? Just to keep him in his place
)
You guys have probably read/heard about these J-web entries already, but I wasn't in the fandom when these came out, and I followed a link today. I just had to squee a bit.
OMG. I read the Tego one first, and while it was kind of what you might expect of Ryo, typical for the most part (though nothing like Yamapi's *whew*), the thing that really stood out was the fact that Ryo said that Tegoshi has "really tiny nipples" four times in one post. WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Wow, Ryo. Not only did you notice his nipple size, but you thought about it enough to a) post about it and b) write it FOUR TIMES. I mean, you would think normally that if a guy notices the size of another guy's nipples, the thought would leave his head just as quickly as it had entered. But no. This indicated time spent, thinking, stewing, obsessing.
Tegoshi's Tiny Nipples HERE But then there's the part of him that's perceptive on a slightly higher level and says things like "There's still winter ahead." Yonde, kudasai (please read)
MASSU'S WAS EVEN BETTER OMGSDKFLJCWLKFJC{{P$##HJ
CUTE... CHUBBY... STRIPPING... I HAVE NO WORDS, BUT I HAD TO SHARE. I want to put this somewhere, like on a banner or something: "Masuda Takahisa is..." followed by a list of his cute and chubby attributes. XDDDD He's a good guy, says Ryo. Love.
Have any of you ever read The Pillow Book by Sei Shonagon? If not, you should. I love it, AND RYO'S J-WEB IS JUST LIKE IT. A pillow book was a sort of diary written by aristocratic women in Heian Period Japan (around the year 1000 or so--same time period as Tale of Genji). Sei Shonagon's version was famous though, even in her own time. It's mostly filled with her SNARKY thoughts about the world around her--gossip about scandals, what she thinks about this or that kind of person... and she made lists (as Ryo has). Literally (though this is from memory), one entry would be "List of things I loathe" and would include flies that do her the discourtesy of buzzing near her and men who leave too quickly (or not quickly enough) in the morning (!!), among many other things. It's great. And so Ryo.
I've decided to do my Japanese Literature research paper on Natsumi Souseki's Wagahai wa Neko Dearu, the novel that inspired Shige's Wagahai J-web entries. Now Shige and I will have something to talk about when we get married.
Okay, you can stop throwing up now. As much as I want to do my own thing, sometimes I gotta throw in that wifey material.
But come on, won't Shige make a good husband? Intelligent, sensitive, witty, hardworking, silly, a great friend, prepares for the future... *sigh*
My city's "Experience Asia Festival" is tomorrow, and as an officer in the Japanese Student Association, I have to be there all day (meaning 9am to 4pm). This normally wouldn't be a problem, as I went last year and had a smashingly good time, but I have to work right afterwards, until 10:30pm. AND ALSO STUDY. GAWD.
