Final Fantasy Tactics!
I hit up penny arcade this morning realizing I had not caught their update on friday and was I surprised. I'm sure its old news to a great many people out there, but Gabe dropped a line concerning the new Final Fantasy Tactics remake. I paused, and then promptly became as a giddy as a bloody school girl.
I have such fond memories of Final Fantasy Tactics you see. Simply uttering the words in succession evoke memories of sitting in Robs Moms living room at the place she had in Lewiston on the floor, both of us discussing who should be what and what strategy would like overcome the enemy. Sitting on Brian's floor in his squashed little room as I thumb through the strategy guide in awe of the absolutely unique art. Memories of sitting on the floor of justins basement (before it was a room) kicking my feet back and fourth in the air as I munch on chips and salsa while I finagle myself some level four Ice magic.
There's much more. There is a certain feeling that comes with playing certain Final Fantasy's, each one has its own distinct feel, a 'flavor' if you will. The final fantasy franchise is like a baskin robbins and long have I dwelled on a flavor they no longer carry in stock. But lo'! Here they are bringing it back for my salivating pallete to partake of once more!
I never owned a gameboy anything after the original, so I was never able to sample the succulent fruits of final fantasy tactics advance. A delicious feast in and of itself, or so I am told, to which I was never able to savor....Final Fantasy XII however brought some of it back. Though it took place in the same world it wasn't the same story or even the same theme, but there was something distinctly Tacticy about it. Somehow they had managed to integrate a slight hint of the favor for which I lamented, a fleeting after taste only barely experienced before gone.
As you can see.... I love this game very much. Now all I need is spare money for the game....
