Finally arrived at school yesterday and settled in. There was a bit of an overflow in the dorms so the school actually leased these nice little apartments from the Marriott, originally there was only 8 of us here but recently the number has jumped to in the fourties. Its not permanent and we could be asked to move in to one of the other dorms at any time, but in the meantime the place is damn nice. Two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, washer/dryer, two bathrooms, TV, internet, cable, and its all fully furnished. Is pretty soft.
My first class isn't actually until tomorrow but I'm pretty nervous, I -really- don't want to screw this up. Once I get a feel for the classes and timing rides on the T I need to get a job, though where precisely I'm going to do that I'm not sure yet. I guess I'll figured it out soon enough. My schedules isn't brutal at all though, which helps immensely, but the people here at this school are NOT fucking around. They're here to kick ass. They're not even bothering with taking names. Just a nice: "STFU N00B!! *boot!*'
I have three other room mates, and they're not so bad, but I think the one called Nick is gonna get his ass kicked out of school with drinking or something. They've made it all rather clear about how this is a dry school and the like, but he wanted me to run out and by him up some booze or something on the first night. I don't see him lasting very long.
Then of course there is Matt, who seems to be irritated with the fact that I schooled him in just about every game we played despite the fact he seems to be a tournament goer on Soul Calibur 3 on a regular basis. He gave me all of this nonsense about characters being this and that tier and I still spanked him using Ivy while he had Kilik. Not only is Kilik a "top tier" character, but he's also my bane and the kid knew it because I had said it earlier in the day. Eventually he did figure out a pretty lame cycle of moves he could use that basically shuts me down, but I'll figure out how to get around the cheap cycle of two attacks and whoop him again.
The last is Fabio, he seems to keep to himself and is a pretty quiet person. When the other two went out to explore boston last night he and I just chilled here watching tv or sitting on the computer or whatever. He didn't say much, neither did I. It was all pretty laid back.
So I hope I got a lot of stuff here that I can learn, I really wanna make the most of the chance I got here with this degree, learn as much as I possibly can. I've been wondering just how much better I could be at things if I just had someone teaching me or some lessons under my belt, nows the chance to find out right?
