Maybe, just maybe there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. The workload is dropping off somewhat (although it will be steady until at least the 20th with the current batch of stuff, at which time a new batch of stuff will start to crop up), and I don't think I'll have to do any overtime this week, unless something untoward or unforeseen happens.
I have enough comp time right now that I can go to ConDFW without touching vacation, so that's a yay. I should have enough vacation time to take off all of spring break, go to ApolloCon, and still have 91 hours of vacation by August 1. Not sure if I'll go somewhere, but I'd like to. I may go to North Carolina for a few days for my birthday to see the family and scout out pottery in Seagrove. That would be a cheap trip and of course I can see the new great-niece and -nephews. Or I might think about Anticipation, since it's before ArmadilloCon, and great timing (but that would be a pricier trip for sure). Are any of you planning on WorldCon this year?
I boycotted human contact all this past weekend, and peeps, don't take this the wrong way, but it was wonderful! Heaven, in fact. I never left my apartment Saturday. In fact, I showered and then put on jammies and stayed that way the whole day, drinking a pot of coffee from my lovely Christmas present (seriously, Sara, I love it!!), and reading and watching tennis. Sunday I only left long enough to grab some pancakes (that's right, Ruben, pancakes!) from Kerbey Lane, pick up some groceries and then squirrel myself away for more relaxing with tennis and reading. I left my computer at work, and boycotted teh intarwebs, and that was great also.
I'm enjoying this current weather and walking in to work this morning, I felt the wind shift to the north with the first hint of the cold air that's headed our way. If the ice they're expecting happens I wonder if the university will delay opening for a few hours? I'm prepared for the colder weather (looking forward to it in fact), and I plan to have a fire going tonight.
Not sure about what I want to do this weekend. If you were to ask me right now, I'm still feeling the need to boycott human contact. That could change, but I need to recharge right now. So, Kelly not sure if I'll see Master Pancake do The Matrix or not. I'll decide maybe on Thursday.
