Worldcon
So, I'm kind of really getting into the idea of going to WorldCon in August. It's the week before ArmadilloCon, so the timing for me is great. I've never been to Montreal and I hear it's a swell city. I figure if I am somewhat frugal the next 7 months (7 paychecks between now and Anticipation), I could have enough money saved up to have a really nice time.
Am talking hotel talk with spielmadchen, since the hotel she's booking has single beds, and those are just going to be too small for us. I can't remember the last time I slept on a single - wait, I do, I was overnight petsitting, and I almost rolled out of the bed.
I've suggested a couple of alternates to her. Build is some siteseeing time, too. It looks like the WorldCon action is very close to the old city, so I'm sure I can find plenty to entertain me while I'm up there.
And this could potentially be my first worry-free travel in years - worry free in that I won't have sick pets that I'm worrying about. Because neither Charlie nor Ginger are going to get sick any time soon, or I'll kill them!
I can still do ConDFW and ApolloCon, but I may curtail my spending somewhat at both.
